Hi friends! If you don’t follow me on Instagram, you likely won’t know that I’m due to give birth within weeks of me posting this. I just wanted to drop in to keep you updated, just in case you’re curious about where the heck I’ve disappeared to.
To allow myself to heal and to adjust to being a first time mom, I’ve decided to take 2 months (or maybe 3, it depends on how I’m feeling) off from creating content. For most of 2021, I struggled with an array of health issues due to pregnancy. Let’s just say being a VIP at the ER isn’t as fun as being a VIP anywhere else.
It’s why I haven’t been as active on socials and in general last year. So with that said, I just want to make sure that I’m giving myself some time to recover from the pregnancy, as well as everything that comes with labour and postpartum.
Don’t worry though, I will be back! I just won’t be able to respond to questions or emails as quickly as I used to.

As for what’s coming in 2022 for Ollie + Holly, I have a few big projects planned! I’m keeping most of them a secret for now, but one that I’m REALLY excited to start is a temperature blanket recording the daily temperature of the first year of my daughter’s life!
The plan is to start recording from the day she’s born, and to end on the 364th day. Then on her first birthday, she’ll have a brand new blanket! I have already written a pattern for this blanket, and I will be sharing the pattern with all of you once I’ve gone through roughly a month of making the blanket. That amount of time should allow me to work out the kinks in the pattern.
Alongside the pattern, I will be filming a few videos featuring this temperature blanket. I can’t wait to get started!
I also want to make more video tutorials this year. I filmed a few videos back in December (2021) but didn’t like how they turned out, so I scrapped those videos. I hope to revisit those topics and do a better job of filming those tutorials this year.
Before I take my break, I do have one more pattern to share with you. If you’ve been following my blog for a while, you’ll know that I try my best to put out a new Lunar New Year pattern each year. This year is no exception! I’m currently working on the final edit for my Year of the Tiger pattern, which will be out on January 10th in my shop, then as a free pattern on my blog on the 12th.
The Year of the Tiger pattern is one of the most detailed patterns I’ve ever written, and I’m so proud of it. I hope you all love it as much as I do!
Anyway, thank you so much for reading this post! Your support means the world to me, and I look forward to coming back and sharing more crochet content with you later on this year.
