This adorable onigiri is designed to be made with fluffy chenille yarn, which makes it super cuddly and huggable. When made with Medium or Light weight yarn, the size of the onigiri toy will be similar to a real one.

Difficulty Level: Intermediate
The finished Onigiri (if you use similar yarn weights to me and match my gauge) measures to be approximately 5 in (13 cm) tall.
Materials:
- Super Bulky weight yarn (#6) yarn in Cream (or White) and Dark Grey – I used 40g of Hobbii Toucan Yarn in Ecru (02) and 6g of Hobbii Honey Bunny in Anthracite (122).
- DK weight yarn (Light #3 or 8-ply) – I used 12g of Hobbii Friends Cotton 8/8 in Charcoal (123).
- 5mm (H) Crochet Hook
- 2.75mm (C) Crochet Hook
- 8mm Safety Eyes and Matching Backings
- Scissors
- Darning Needle
- Locking Stitch Markers
- Sewing Pins
- Polyester Stuffing
- Skewer or Chopstick
- Small Piece of Fabric
- DMC 6-Strand Embroidery Floss – Black

ch: chain
sl st: slip stitch
sc: single crochet
hdc: half double crochet
dc: double crochet
inc: two single crochet in one stitch
dec: invisible decrease- single crochet two stitches together through the front loops only
(…) x #: repeat anything in the parenthesis however many times the number indicates
[#]: total number of stitches for that row
#sc/hdc/dc/inc/dec: one sc/hdc/dc/inc/dec in the following # stitches
sc#: sc # of times indicated in the same stitch – note that sc3 (3 sc in one st) and 3sc (one sc into each of the next 3 sts) are not the same.
{x, y, z} in the next st: work everything in the brackets into the same st
3dc-bobble: 3-Double Crochet Bobble Stitch: (YO, insert hook into the stitch**, YO and draw up a loop, YO and draw through 2 loops) x 3. You should have 4 loops on your hook after that. YO and draw through all 4 loops on your hook. **Note: You are working everything into the same stitch.
