Difficulty Level: Easy/Intermediate
The finished Sakura Mochi measures to be about 2.5in (7 cm) wide and the Hanami Dango measures to be about 5” (13cm) tall.
- WeCrochet Shine Sport Yarn – Sakura Mochi – 8g of Blush, 8g of Peapod, & a little bit of Green Apple. Hanami Dango – 5g of Blush, 5g of Cream, 5g of Peapod, and 3g of Willow. NOTE: The amount of yarn you use will depend on how tightly you crochet.
- 3.25mm Crochet Hook (2.75 or 3mm hook if you are working the regular single crochet st)
- Darning Needle
- Locking Stitch Markers (Optional)
- Polyfil Stuffing or Scrap Yarn
I used Shine Sport from WeCrochet for this toy, but you can use any soft cotton yarn as long as you correspond your hook to the weight of your yarn. You can also easily size up/down by using thicker/thinner yarn, just make sure to change the size of your hook accordingly.
