The fourth doll I decided to make for my Mr. Frond’s Therapy Dolls collection is Distracts-his-friendzo Lorenzo! (Season 6, Episode 6) I love the little voice and accent Mr. Frond does for him.

Gauge
5 Round Circle = 2” with a 3.5mm hook
Gauge isn’t super important for amigurumi, but I included it just in case you want to check your gauge. Being a little off should not affect the final product too much. You can learn more about how to measure gauge for amigurumi here!

Yarn I Used
I used Paintbox Yarns Cotton Aran for this toy; however, you can use any cotton yarn as long as you correspond your hook to the weight of your yarn. For this pattern, I used roughly 15g of Granite Grey (< half a skein of yarn), 20g of Sailor Blue (< half a skein), 20g of Rose Red (< half a skein of yarn), 35g of Peach Orange (> half a skein of yarn), and 40g of Coffee Bean (< one skein of yarn).

Fasten off, leave a long tail for sewing. The Hair Cap should fit on top of the Head like a helmet.

Assembly
- Pin the Body to the Head and sew together. Do not sew the chest area to the Head with the Rose Red yarn. Instead, thread a long piece of Peach Orange yarn through the back of the Head and out from the first st of the chest. Sew the chest to the Head with the Peach Orange tail.
- After sewing the chest to the Head, thread the Peach Orange tail through so that it is coming out beside the stitches we are going to embroider over to hide (see photo below). Embroider over the Rose Red stitches that make the chest look more jagged, and then weave the tails in to hide.

- Pin the Legs onto the bottom of the Body, positioning them so that the boots are facing out slightly. Once you are happy with the placement of the Legs, sew them in place. I had about two rounds in-between the two Legs.
- Pin the Arms onto the sides of the Body, making sure to not leave a gap between the Head and the top of the Arms. I left a 12-st gap between the Arms in the front of the Body.
- Pin the Hair Cap onto the top of the Head and sew in place. I lined the magic circle from the Hair Cap to the magic circle on the top of the Head.
- Cut a bunch (I say “a bunch” because it’s hard to pin-point exactly how many strands you need to cut; just keep cutting hair strands as you go) of 3.5 to 4-inch long strands of Coffee Bean yarn. I did so by wrapping the yarn around my palm (which is conveniently 3.75” wide) over and over, and then cutting the top and the bottom of the bundle. If your palm is significantly larger, you can also cut a piece of cardboard to the proper size and wrap the yarn around that instead. We will be creating a bunch of lark’s head knots onto the Hair Cap to create hair.
- To make a lark’s head knot, take a piece of yarn and fold it in half. Insert your hook underneath a stitch on the Hair Cap and pull the centre of the piece of yarn through beneath the stitch of the Hair Cap. Wrap the two tails around your hook while it is still in the loop (the one you just created when you pulled the centre of the strand under and out of the stitch on the Hair Cap). Pull the two tails through the loop and tighten.

- Outline the entire Hair Cap with lark’s head knots, making sure to insert your hook from the outside in (black arrows in the photo below).
- After the initial outline, continue making lark’s head knots throughout the head, making sure to insert your hook from the outside in when working on the circle part of the Hair Cap, and from the bottom up when working the back part of the Hair Cap (white arrows in the photo below). Do your best to fill in all the gaps. It doesn’t need to be super neat, but just make sure to leave enough length for the tails so that the knots don’t come out easily.

- Optional: After each layer, dab a little bit of glue at the base of the lark’s head knots and allow the glue to dry fully. This will really secure your knots.

- When the entire Hair Cap is covered, take a sharp pair of scissors and trim Lorenzo’s hair. It does not have to be super neat because Lorenzo’s hair is supposed to look kind of crazy. Just make sure to not cut the hair too short, or your lark’s head knots will not stay secured.
- Pin the Ears onto the side of the Head, a couple stitches in front of the Hair Cap. Sew in place.

- Pin out a line one row below the eyes that spans roughly 8 sts between the eyes. With black embroidery thread, embroider a line in.

Love all of your Bob’s Burgers Patterns they are so cute. The only one you are missing is the Aunt Gail Doll (The Dead Grandmother’s Shall Doll) Frond makes for her when they first start dating. 😀 I am new to crocheting and your videos are how I’ve learned a lot. Thank You
Hi Cody,
I’m so glad you like the Bob’s Burgers patterns! 😀
I was definitely thinking about making Gayle. So many things on my list though lol. Will probably get to it one day!
