As someone who doesn’t know anything about Pokemon past the first generation, I was a little confused when my friend asked me to create this guy. I mean, what is Dunsparce? Is it a bee? What are its attacks? I honestly don’t know. It’s kinda cute though.
Anyway, I don’t usually take custom orders because I like to make what I feel like making. However, my friend has been asking me to make this for his friend for a very long time, so I decided to finally make it. This Dunsparce amigurumi toy took a lot longer to make than I initially planned. The shape was something I struggled with a bit and I had to redo it multiple times. But I’m glad I pushed on, because I’m really happy with the way it turned out.

Yarn I Used
I used Paintbox Yarns Cotton Aran for this toy; however, you can use any cotton yarn as long as you correspond your hook to the weight of your yarn. For this pattern, I used roughly 25g of Kingfisher Blue (about half a skein of yarn), 60g of Daffodil Yellow (< 2 skeins), 10g of Banana Cream (< 1 skein), 8g of Champagne White (< 1 skein), and a little bit of Pure Black for the embroidered details.
Free Dunsparce Pokemon Amigurumi Crochet Pattern
The finished toy measure to be about 11 in (28cm) long.
Gauge: 4.5 sts x 5 rows = 1” with a 3.5mm hook
Gauge isn’t super important for amigurumi, but I included it just in case you want to check your gauge. Being a little off should not affect the end product too much.

Dunsparce’s Main Body
Stuffing Notes: Stuff as you go. You will need to stuff tightly to get the proper shape. Before you stuff it, the tip of the head will look a little bit more pointed.
As you stuff it, the head shape will round out a bit. Also, make sure to stuff the head near the neck area fully as well. The photos below show the head when it’s properly stuffed.

Assembly
- Pin the Belly Piece to the bottom of the Main Body, making sure the front of the mouth area is centered. Sew in place.
- Pin the Back Piece onto the back of the Main Body, making sure it’s centered by counting the stitches on each side of the Main Body between the Belly Piece and the Back Piece. Sew in place.
- With the Pure Black yarn, embroider a line down the centre of the Cream part of the eyes.
- Pin the Eyes onto the head. The bottom of the Eyes should be 2 sts above the Belly Piece, with 8 sts between the Eyes. Make sure the embroidered line is going sideways with a slight slant as it goes outwards.
- Pin the Pincers onto the front part of the mouth area, 4 sts between the pincers. Sew in place, making sure to lightly stuff before completely closing it off.
- Pin the Wings onto the back, beside the Back Piece on either side and sew in place. Make sure to sew only an inch of the wing onto the body.
- With Pure Black yarn, embroider 3 lines onto the stinger, leaving a 4-row gap between each line.

Supposedly it’s a “land snake” Pokémon, even though it looks nothing like one.
But I guess one could make multiple copies of the body & wings, and join them together into segments, so it actually looks like a snake.
