A week ago, I posted my Chinese New Year Amigurumi Mouse pattern. Initially, I wanted to dress it up in a qipao (traditional Chinese dress), but the more I worked with it, the more I wanted it to also work for Valentine’s Day. To do so, I decided to turn to one of my favourite Disney movies for inspiration- The Rescuers!
The Rescuers movie follows two mice- Miss Bianca and Bernard. The mice receive a message in a bottle sent by an orphan named Penny and set out to rescue her. Bianca and Bernard are super adorable together, so I thought making them would be very fitting for Valentine’s Day.

Yarn I Used for this Project
For this toy, I used Knitpicks Shine Sport Yarn. I chose to work with Shine Sport for this project because it’s one of my favourite yarns to crochet with. I like that the yarn rarely splits, crochets up very smoothly and has a slight glossiness. However, you can use any cotton yarn as long as you correspond your hook to the weight of your yarn.
To create Miss Bianca and Bernard, head over to the Amigurumi Mouse post and make your mice first. I used Cream yarn for Bianca and Platinum for Bernard.
For Bianca’s outfit, I used roughly 15g of Iris (each skein is 50g) and 5g of Crocus.
For Bernard’s outfit, I used 10g of Serrano and 5g of Sweet Potato.
The Rescuers Miss Bianca & Bernard Mouse Free Amigurumi Crochet Pattern

Assembly
- If you haven’t already, make Bianca and Bernard by using the Chinese New Year Mouse pattern.
- To easily put the arms through the sleeves, thread a piece of scrap yarn through the arm and pass both ends of the yarn through the opening of the sleeve with a darning needle. Pull on the yarn while tugging the sleeves back. Remove the scrap yarn and repeat the process on the other arm.
- This method works for Bernard as well. Just make sure to slide the sweater on from the bottom up.
- Tie the Scarf around Bianca’s neck and place or sew the hats onto the mice.
You have just finished making Bianca and Bernard!
