Anyone else tired of people asking them to make Baby Yoda amigurumi? I AM! I watched the show and I really enjoyed it, but oh my gosh Baby Yoda is EVERY. FRIGGIN. WHERE. I have been asked to make Baby Yoda more times than I care to remember and it’s driving me insane. So instead of creating yet another Baby Yoda pattern to contribute to the overflowing supply of Baby Yoda patterns, here’s the Mandalorian amigurumi pattern.
I chose to make the original armour instead of the new Beskar armour because I liked the colours a bit more. This pattern will be split up into two parts because it’s just such a long pattern. In this post, we’ll be making the body, arms, and chest armour. In the next post, we will be creating the rest of the details.
Most of the details can also be made by cutting pieces of felt out and sewing/gluing them to the toy. However, I wanted to give you guys the option of just crocheting most of the components.

For this toy, I used Knitpicks Shine Sport Yarn. I chose to work with Shine Sport for this project because it’s one of my favourite yarns to crochet with. I like that the yarn rarely splits and crochets up very smoothly. However, you can use any cotton yarn as long as you correspond your hook to the weight of your yarn. For this pattern, I used roughly 30g of Black (a little less than 1 skein of yarn), 25g of Coffee (< 1 skein), 20g of Willow (< 1 skein), 15g of Platinum, and a little bit of Sweet Potato for the hands.
Free Mandalorian (Din Djarin) Amigurumi Crochet Pattern
The finished Mandalorian amigurumi measures to be about 7.5 inches tall (20cm). The difficulty level of this pattern is Intermediate and this pattern is written in US crochet terminology. There is a lot of sewing involved with this pattern because of all of the details, but I think the details are what I love the most about this toy.

How big is the finished product?
Hi Donna, I list the height measurement of each project at the beginning of my posts! 🙂 This one is roughly 7.5″.
Abby
thank you for sharing your beautiful pattern. My nephews will adore have mandos to go with theie baby yodas.
Could there be an error with colors listed for the yarns in both parts?
In the supplies you list colors: Sky, iris, robot, serrano and white.
in the pattern you use colors coffee, black, willow, platinum and sweet potato
Oh oops, that’s definitely a mistake. Coffee, black, willow, platinum and sweet potato is the correct list of colours. Thank you!
What a great pattern!
I am having trouble with the body, though; As far as I can tell, after I join the legs, my start of round is between the legs, right? The count of Round 1 doesn’t work otherwise. This seems ok up until round 6, because at that point the brown comes down to a point on the side hip, not between the legs.
Should I be moving the start of round marker?
Hi there,
I just sent you an email! I need a little bit more info to be able to figure out what the issue is.
Thanks,
Abby
Have u got a video of how to crochet legs together?
Hi Dee,
I don’t have a specific video for joining the Mandalorian’s legs together, but I go over how I join amigurumi legs together in this video. It’s not exactly the same, but it’s similar enough that you should be able to get the gist of it.
Hope that helps!
Abby
