I was in New York the first time I saw BT21 characters. There were large figurines lined up at the Line store at Times Square and people were flocking to go and take photos with them. I had no idea what they were, but thought they were really cute.
To be honest, as someone who isn’t an avid K-pop fan, I don’t really know much about BTS. However, my sister’s girlfriend really likes K-pop and LOVES the Koya character from BT21. The last time I visited them, I saw a bunch of Koya-related things, so I knew I had to create this ornament for her for Christmas.

Free BT21 Koya Christmas Ornament Amigurumi Crochet Pattern

I used the Knitpicks Shine Sport yarn for this ornament because I love how smooth it crochets up. The yarn also looks slightly glossy, which makes the ornaments look a little bit more polished.
The difficulty level of this pattern is Easy and this pattern is written in US crochet terminology.

Assembly
- Whenever I sew ears onto a head, I like to sew the opening of the ears shut to make them easier to attach onto the head.
- Sew the Inner Ear piece onto the Ear, making sure to line the flat sides together.
- Pin the Ears onto the Head. I pinned my ears a bit behind the centre line, with the top attachment point of the ears starting at Row 5 of the Head. You can check to see if your Ears are symmetrical by looking at it from the top down.
- Place the Santa Hat onto the centre space to make sure you have enough space for the Hat for later. Sew the ears into place.
- Pin the nose onto the centre of the face, the top of the nose should roughly be at Row 9. Sew it into place.

- Thread the tail from the Pompom through the top of the Santa Hat and sew into place.
- Pin the hat onto the top of the Head between the ears, sew into place.

- With grey or black embroidery thread, embroider two slanted lines on either side of the Nose to create the eyes. The slant of the lines should only be about a row deep.
- With the same embroidery thread, embroider a very shallow U right underneath the nose to create the mouth.

- If you are planning to make this into an ornament, thread a piece of White yarn through the centre of the Pompom and tie off to create a loop. Cut off the excess tails and you have just created your very own Koya ornament!

This is such a quick and easy project and makes for a great last minute gift to whip up!
