It’s the most wonderful time of the year!!! Not gonna lie, I am one of those people who start to decorate for Christmas on November 1st. I love Christmas! I love giving gifts, warm fuzzy textures in blankets and sweaters, hot drinks, holiday foods, Christmas music, and of course, decorating my home… basically, I love everything about this time of the year.
This Reindeer ornament pattern, like the Christmas Pudding, is an updated version of an old pattern I wrote when when I first started writing patterns. Back then, I wrote all of my patterns in the back of my bullet journal by hand. Because I was so new at pattern writing, it was a lot of trial and error.

As you can tell from the photo above, the newer versions of the Reindeer look a lot more similar to my sketched vision.
Note: To protect my work, I have disabled right click and printing on my site because I have experienced theft in the past. Please do not copy my patterns in any way. By copying or distributing my patterns without permission, you are making it difficult for designers like me to continue doing what I love. Doing so also discourages me and will prompt me to stop sharing my patterns freely. If you wish to utilize the free patterns, you may do so on my site. Thank you so much for your understanding and for being respectful!

If you wish to print out the pattern, you can purchase the ad-free, printable PDF of Rudolph the Reindeer Pattern from the shop . ($4 CAD) The PDF includes detailed instructions for both the naked Reindeer and the Reindeer in the sweater.

Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer Ornament Amigurumi Crochet Pattern

I used the Knitpicks Shine Sport yarn for this ornament because I love how smooth it crochets up. The yarn also looks slightly glossy, which makes the ornaments look a little bit more polished.
The difficulty level of this pattern is Easy and this pattern is written in US crochet terminology.

Assembly
- Pin the snout onto the centre of the face, one row below the eyes, and sew in place. Make sure to lightly stuff the snout before completely sewing it shut.
- Sew the Short Antler onto the middle of the Long Antler.
- Sew the bottom opening of the ears shut.
- Fold the ear vertically in half and sew the bottom to keep the fold.
- Pin the ears and the antlers onto the top of the head to gauge your placement. Sew each piece in place. My ears were 5 rows from the centre and the antlers were one st apart on the top of the head. I pinned the antlers a little bit behind the ears.

- Sew the arms onto the side of the body. To make sure the position is the same on both sides, you can look down from the top of the body to determine where to sew your arms onto.
- Pin the body onto the head to position and sew into place.

- Embroider a large nose onto the top part of the snout with Serrano yarn.
- Optional: Embroider two lines on the cheeks with Cosmopolitan yarn for blush.
- If you want to make this Reindeer into an ornament, string a piece of yarn through the top and tie off to create a loop.

You have just completed your Rudolph the Reindeer ornament! These will make great gifts for friends and family! Handmade ornaments are one of my favourite things to receive as gifts during Christmas!

I love your site. and I want to thank you for sharing your precious patterns. I have made the cat nurse, the bat for my granddaughter and 2 of the cups. but I made them to look like they had coffee in them, for my son and his fiancée. and I am going to make the reindeer. I have just recently started crocheting again after 40 some years. I am 76 now and you have brought a lot of joy into my life.
